I have been shopping around for a little cordless vac for awhile now, years and years ago I had a dustbuster, that I loved but when it went kaput I just never replaced it, resigning myself to hauling out the vacuum or electric broom for every little mess. I found this Electrolux refurbished at Big Lots for $39.99 and at that price I can say I am VERY pleased with this little vacuum, it is fairly quiet, holds a charge well and picks up EVERYTHING - I am amazed each time I open the dust cup at the pet hair it picks up even when I was just vacuuming up some crumbs off the carpet. It is great for all kinds of little messes, so far in the 3 weeks I have had it, I have used to for cleaning the stairs, in between and under the sofa cushions, around the door jambs, the windowsills, along the baseboards, I can't seem to stop finding ways to use it. My 4 y/o twin boys love it too and have been helping me clean too! Even at the amazon price, it is well worth it and I am hoping this provides me as many years of faithful service as my dustbuster did.

- Suction works well - haven't had any problems, granted my main purpose in getting was to vaccuum hair.

- Would suggest you use it with the connector and not by itself. Otherwise you will scratch the paint off of the original plastic if you bump into anything.

- Would highly recommend it.

This vacuum cleaner is okay for some things but not for everything. I bought it mainly to clean my PC. When I discovered that the suction wasn't strong enough to clean as deeply as I liked, I decided to use it to pick up lint and dust. It does that well. It also picks up hair and crumbs. If you want to do a deep cleaning of your computer though, forget it. It will pick up surface dirt but not much underneath. It works good for things that are small and easy to get at, and for the price---you just can't beat it!

I bought a vac that looks exactly the same, just from a different seller, for our new Honda Odyssey. The thing went to the trash next week - it's not powerful at all, doesn't pick up any liquids, and gets clogged right away even with the Cheerios. We have a young child and Cheerios and other baby foods are the main things that need to be picked up in the car. I ended up picking it up all by hand AND cleaning the vac. The bottom line - don't waste your money with this junk and buy a decent one!

My wife and I bought this vacuum for our first apartment after getting married. We have about 20 square feet of carpet to vacuum and after 6 months of light use, the suction greatly decreased. We cleaned out the filter after every use, and after about 10 months, it just stopped working. We don't have the original receipt so we can't get our money back. Lesson learned...

i bought this item at a Best Buy and it seemed nice with the swivel features and the cool colors. so i brought it home and let in charge for a day (after i assembled it). i tried it out. i love the removable mini vacuum. but the battery only lasts for about 15 minutes. and its contents fall out once you've finished vacuuming, which is quite unfunctional. i like this vacuum otherwise, but i decided to return it. :( hope this helped some of you decide.

For the money, this is a handy little gadget! No, it will not take the place of your regular vacuum, but it sure is handy for quick clean-ups. I have a central vac system in my home and although it does a great job it can be a real pain to get out and hook up for spot cleaning. This light weight cordless Eureka solves that problem! It probably does not have enough suction to deep clean but it certainly picks things up off the surface of both carpet and tile. The rotating brush can be turned on or off but since it does not have a beater bar it seems safe to use it on tile and helps pick things up from the grout lines. I read some other reviews saying it is cheaply constructed......well yeah....what do you expect for $42. It is well worth the money it costs but probably not worth $300.....Dah! The battery seems to hold up well for quick jobs and then put it back on the charger for the next time.

I've had this vacuum for a couple weeks, now, and so far I'm not disappointed. I bought it to pick up pet hair and kitty litter tracked across the floor, and it does a great job on both. It works so well, in fact, that I don't run my regular vacuum nearly as often--just don't need to. It's also quieter than a regular vacuum, which the cats like. It is much easier to clean than my old stick model was. I also like the fact that it converts from a floor vac to a hand vac--very handy. The battery life could be a little longer, but unless you want to vacuum your whole house at one time, this is not a problem. For quick pick-ups of hair or small particles, this vac is great.

We recently installed wood laminate flooring and I needed a cordless vacuum for quick pick-ups of stray cat litter and dust balls. After reading lots of reviews and doing my homework, I settled on the Eureka Cordless Quick-up. Since it was 1/4th the price of the other contender (and budget was a high priority), I was only expecting a mediocre vacuum at best. To say I was pleasantly suprised at the performance of this cordless is an understatement! I charged it for the minimum of 16 hours before its 1st use, then eagerly went to work. It was much quieter than even my Dust Buster, so I thought it wasn't working well, but I was wrong once again. End result: I can vacuum the entire condo (1500 sq ft), go from carpet to laminate with ease (you can turn the roller brush on and off), and it still doesn't run out of power. It picks up cat litter, cat fur, dust and dirt. My only regret is that I didn't purchase this vacuum earlier. My cordless Dust Buster and upright Dirt Devil rarely get used any more. This little guy does it all!

This product works wonders. Worth the price. I bought it for the sole purpose of using it on my tile floors. I have a larger electrolux vacuum that I dig out twice a week for the carpets but this is so convenient for twice-daily use. I use it to vacuum up crumbs in the kitchen to pet hair on the floor to dirt near the entrance. It has great suction and I love how it has two settings so I can put it on high for heavy jobs and low for when my boyfriend is watching TV and I don't want to disturb too much. While I dont use the handvac often, I have another product for that, it is nice to have for the occasional small cleanup. This product has great suction, battery lasts long enough, and it glides effortlessly across my tile. I also love its pivoting ability. Cleanup is a breeze now thanks to ergarapido. So much better than sweeping all that pet hair around.

One flaw: doesn't stand up so easily when not on charger.

I bought this to replace the one my wife took when she moved out. Loved the last one and this works great on my hardwood floors and Persian rug. I have a two year old who is constantly dragging dirt and leaves inside. This is wonderful to grab and clean up real quick. A stickvac with a dustbuster attached....Why didn't I think of that. This is one of the reasons why Electrolux is so successful. Probably one of the most useful gadgets in the house. I would deff buy this again but I would probably get it from a Electrolux Preferred Dealer, if you buy it from them you get preferred coverage with all electrolux floor care items. The preferred dealers are the only ones that can sell certain items like: The Ultraone, and the Ultrasilencer Deluxe plus that is where any service and accessories will happen too. Im sure there are more to come as Electrolux tries to help non big-box-stores.

I can't really rate the way this vacuum works because it arrived damaged. The part that hold the filter was complelty cracked in half.. it's made of plastic. I received this vacumm for a Christmas gift 12/09 and have used it daily ever since. Two yellow labs, one long hair cat...I take very good care of this unit, cleaning and charging it after every use. Works like a charm. However, I have noticed the battery life has been steadily diminishing. Now lasts only about 4 minutes total. Called Black and Decker to reorder rechargeable batteries and was told the cost would be $60.00!! Only paid 100.00 for the unit! Has anyone else needed to replace batteries yet?

Very pleased with the power and ease this little guy has!! Cat food off of tile, cat litter out of carpet, dirt from the 'boyz' not wiping their feet before coming in from outside, stairs. I even took it outside to help vac off the patio furniture. It is extremely portable and works great! The only slight issue is the handle feels a little wobbly when you are using it, but no worries it is def. strong enough to do the jobs you need it to do. The handle moves a bit simply because it's removable to turn the Eureka into a dust buster. I basically vacuum something up everyday now with no hassle at all. Highly recommend!!

It is wonderful! For someone who has several indoor cats, I swear by this hand vac.

PROS: It picks up pet hair better than any vacuum I know.

It is great for fluffing up heavy traffic areas on your carpet and stairs

My carpet looks like I use my full size vacuum, it picks up everything

Great on tile floors in the kitchen and bath, picks up crumbs and hair beautifully

Its light weight.

The handle comes off for use on furniture and it helps on the stairs

Picks up cat food and cat litter

I have one minor con but I don't dare give it less than five stars. I love it that much.

CONS: Wish the battery life was longer, but that's ok because it comes with two strong rechargable chargers that can be charged at the same time. I like using it in my entire home, not just for spot clean up. It just makes the carpet look so fresh

This vacuum does a much better job with cat hair and dirt than any other lite portable we've tried, B&D or Shark. It will do the majority of the house 3 times on a single charge. I recommend not charging the vacuum or spare battery unless they are low, (not dead, just low), as every nicad battery gets cooked by the chargers soon after the warranty period, whether it's 90 days or 1 year.

Engineers continue to specify charging rates far in excess of the capability of the batteries to shed heat. This applies to all nicads and most nimh battery chargers on cheap portable appliances, therefore the batteries, over time, start a chemical chain reaction while being charged which kills them. Battery chargers which are electrically correct, cost about 20 to 40 dollars each, so you can see why they are only included in professional appliances and tools.

To beat this problem and have nicads or nimh batteries last for a few years instead of a few months, you must charge them only when they need it and do not leave them in the charger more than they need to recover. Also the fewer cells used in these batteries, the less chance of an inferior one which will ruin the entire battery pack so use lower voltage battery packs.

The batteries should be used until they are mostly discharged, i.e., when the motor slows down a little bit. Then they should be charged for 16 and no more than 24 hours, and taken off the charger or turn the charger off.

BTW, there is a simple solution to this dilemma, manufacturers should include Chinese made chargers with all portable appliances which charge the batteries with an intelligent rate, constant current, constant voltage, heat and voltage cutoff and .01C trickle rate. One day someone will do this and we should only buy that brand until the rest of them get with the program and we stop throwing away batteries so often. (Oops, they make higher profits selling replacement batteries so there goes the incentive)
