 "Too new to tell, but I'm mad about the advertising" 2009-11-14

I just got this vac yesterday so it is too soon to tell what I think. It will be replacing one like it from Oreck that I've had for about 5 years (the battery on that one finally gave out, and a replacement battery did not help the situation, it just wouldn't hold a charge...it was down to about 3 minutes).



So first off, I'm angry about the advertising. Eureka makes, (based on consumer reviews I researched first), two similar style vacs. One is the Eureka EZ Kleen, and one is the Eureka Quick-Up. They both seem to rate pretty good but the EZ Kleen rated higher in terms of overall "oomph". So that's the one I went for. Notice that the picture AND the name above show the EZ Kleen. But guess what? The model number and what actually arrives are the Quick-UP. So it really makes me mad that this is advertised wrong. Unless they have discontinued one and are calling all of them the EZ Kleen now. After I got the shipping notification for my "Quick-UP", (and I had three such notifications), I "quick-up" let them know that I had ordered the EZ Kleen NOT the Quick-UP. NO response.



That is not to say that this won't be a great little vac. One thing I can tell already that I do not like (and the consumer ratings stated this as well), is that the Quick-Up, will not Stand Up on it's own. It is made to be hung in it's charger which is fine and dandy, but if you are doing cleaning, most people stop during the process to move things or to answer the phone or whatever...this machine will fall over. It is not built to stand up which is so retarded I can't begin to tell you! Sort of like a bike without a kick-stand.



Another thing I don't like (or don't think I will) is that they say it converts to a handheld which is true, but it still leaves the beater head attached. My husband used our old one (which detached to look just like the original dustbusters) to do quick clean-up around the sink after beard trimming. You can't exactly do this with the whole beater head attached.



I am charging it the required 16 hours prior to first use, which will happen today. I'm happy it comes with two batteries, happy it is bagless, happy it has an on/off switch so you can have the beater on for carpets, and off for bare floors (a feature the oreck did not have). Happy it's cordless. And I'm happy that it's OK to leave it in the charger all the time without hurting the battery life (or so they say) I'll have to let you know on the rest.



I REALLY WANTED the EZ KLEEN! I noticed however, that this seems to be a common issue. I looked around at many sites and they would describe and name the EZ Kleen with a photo and model number of the Quick-UP...with Quick UP clearly printed on the model they were advertising as the EZ Kleen. What gives Eureka? Or[...]M ??? The only reason I decided to keep it is because I'm in the middle of my fall cleaning and the other one just would not longer work. I hope the performance of the unit is better than the advertising.

This is a winner!...we've used them for years in commercial settings for quick surface dirt and debris pickups. The battery lasts longer than anything I've ever used before; will easily run 20-25 minutes continuously. This is an amazingly good little vac...try it, you will like it.

I had to come and comment on how great this little vacuum is! I bought the version in lime green, and it was more for the color than what I knew of the product. I can't say enough about how fantastic it is--the battery power is perfection, it has never run out on me, even leaving it on the workbench and only using it to occasionally suck up saw dust. The suction is also amazing for a hand held unit--it can pick up dry cat food and cat litter. Running on the rugs and furniture, when I dump the cup, I'm in awe at how much hair it has sucked up--hair I couldn't even see . . . I swear it works better than my clunky full sized vacuum, and noise wise, it doesn't even scare the cats when I use it!!!



Also worked great detailing the car!!!! With the brush and wand cleverly included in the stand, it's got all you could need for a hand-held vacuum!

On sale at Costco!! $80!!! Does everything!!! NOT!!!! I had high hopes for this unit, but it really doesn't do very well at all: doesn't work well on hardwood, linoleum, vinyl, nor carpet: high pile, low pile, area rugs...you name it: it just doesn't pick up stuff! Oh a dust bunny on hardwood will get sucked up, but try to get a few dirt particles out of a bathroom floor or a piece of cat litter sucked up and you will go over and over and over it. yes, the head pivots. Yes, there's a removable dirt cup. Yes, there's a removable hand unit. But it still doesn't pick up dirt!!! I am very sorry I spent money on this. I think I'll go look at Sharks or Black and Deckers or anything else. I didn't expect it to be a full-service vac. I have a good Kenmore for that. I just wanted to gather crumbs, pine needles, small stuffs on the bathroom floor, small particles on the edges of the hardwood floor. Even these things, on a regular basis, don't get picked up....

I bought this vacuum Cleaner after reading a lot of reviews. Some said it's not good and some said it does the job for a small space. Well, it worked well for maybe 1 month! After that it didn't pick up anything at all, just made a bigger mess. I am surprised it's so pricey. It's a total waste of money.

Bought this to use on new hardwood and laminate floors on the uppper level of our home instead of dragging the old Electrolux out and plugging in, moving to the next room, plugging in, and so on. This little thing works much better than expected. It's powerful, it's light, it's very manueverable and it gets under the bed with ease. All with no cords. The battery has been lasting for three to four cleanings of the entire upper floor, 3 bedrooms, living room, dining room and kitchen without going dead. The LED indicator gets down to 1 bar and it's time to recharge. I bought an extra battery for this but I'm beginning to think that was a waste of money as we have yet to run out in the middle of vacuuming. Even for those one off quickie jobs to pick up a mess from crumbs or bird seed, feathers or whatever.

It's pricey but Amazon had it lower than anyone else so if you're looking for a deal look no further.

No more searching, this is it! I must say I am addicted to vaccums and when I bought my house a year and a half ago, my old vaccum didn't work on my new hardwood floors. I first tried a canister vaccum by Hoover and didn't like it at all. It was bulky and too many pieces to lug around, it also didn't have the suction I was expecting to see with a Hoover. I have hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room, dining room and hallway. Before my Hoover cordless I would manually wipe the floors with a microfiber duster. I would wipe everything into a pile and vaccum it up with the Shark. Once I saw the video of the Cordless Hoover I had to have it. So I bought the vaccum and a back up battery. It works perfect! And I can't believe how much is sucks up. My house is animal and kid free and I pick up dust almost everyday with this vaccum. If you buy this vaccum just make sure you buy a back up battery. It's well worth the money!

After moving into our new house a couple months ago, I realized that our old vacuum wasn't exactly the right fit for the house. We went from having a home with mostly carpet, to one with all hardwoods and ceramic tile. I need a vacuum perfect for cleaning my hardwoods and tile. The old vacuum just blew everything around on these surfaces.

After much research and seeing the positive reviews of this stick vac, I put it on my Christmas list. I was thrilled to get it as a gift for Christmas. I've had it for nearly a month now and this is my go-to vacuum. I use it all the time and I love it! It actually makes cleaning fun ... and I am not a clean freak. I hate cleaning!

To clean my floors in the past, I used to sweep the dirt in a pile, get the hand vac out and get on my hands and knees and suck up the individual piles. Now, all I have to do is just pull this lightweight vac out of the closet and go to town! It's so easy. I always place the battery right back on the charger when done with a job, so that it is ready for the next use.

I have a 2,600 sq. ft. home. I haven't tried to clean the whole house at one time yet, so I'm not sure how long of life the battery really has, but I can get through at least 2-3 rooms at once. I mostly use this in the kitchen on a daily basis, and our large ceramic tile great room.

I also love how well it gets dirt off the floor. It really gets close to the sides of the walls and gets into the nooks and crannys.

Now that I have this stick vac, and my Shark Steam Mop, I find cleaning to be a joy! These are the two major products I use on a daily basis. I highly recommend this stick vac!

It does what everyone says it does, so well that I was actually disappointed because it only took three minutes for me to do my whole apartment & then I had to put it away. That was IT? It's OVER?!



This thing looks and feels and sounds like a toy. It's really lightweight, it's shiny plastic, you can whip it around quickly. I turned it on & it's relatively quiet, which made me think "where's the suction?". I lifted it up to feel how powerful the suction was with my hand, & thought "oh no" because it seemed weak. I did the apartment to see if it worked on the doghair. I looked at the dirtcup. Wow. There was stuff in there I didn't even know was on the floor.



Then I vacuumed the light rug in the kitchen--the suction almost sucked up the rug (the rug is not secured to the floor, guess I'll be changing THAT). So I guess the lesson is, don't judge the vacuum by it's suction on your hand (unless you plan to vacuum it regularly).



This thing is awesome! I gave it 4 out of 5 stars because 1) I wanted it to be cheaper, and 2) still not sure how it works on heavier particles. But so far so good.

The battery in this unit doesn't last like it should even if you don'y use the roller brush mode. The power supply should be bigger even if it adds a little weight to the complete unit. Had I known about the limited operating time, I wouldn't have bought it. Hoover should provide an extra battery at no charge.........like OTHER reputable "tool" lines!

i bought this item at a Best Buy and it seemed nice with the swivel features and the cool colors. so i brought it home and let in charge for a day (after i assembled it). i tried it out. i love the removable mini vacuum. but the battery only lasts for about 15 minutes. and its contents fall out once you've finished vacuuming, which is quite unfunctional. i like this vacuum otherwise, but i decided to return it. :( hope this helped some of you decide.

I have owned the 12 v. model for a couple of years and was well satisfied with performance. This newer 18v. machine is definitely more powerful, vacuums much longer on a charge, and has a number of design improvements such as the ability to fold up and to reach under low furniture. The only limitation I have noted is the initial difficulty of taking out the filter for cleaning. I had to return to the manual a few times before I remembered how to do this. The operation is, however, quite simple and the filter is efficient. A worthwhile upgrade to a handy tool for floors and light carpet cleaning.

I have Electrolux cordless vacuum. So I can compare only to Electolux. B&D is not elegant or light as Electrolux. Doesn't have detachable handheld vacuum. Removing and cleaning dirt from unit is not so easy as with Electrolux. But this small monster makes work done. It is really able to vacuum, pickup pets hairs, dirt from floor and rags. And it is able to run on one charge long enough to finish job. Electrolux is able to pickup only light dust from bare floor for 5 min. I am very satisfied with B&D.

This vacuum has a lot of power for a cordless stick vacuum, is easy to clean and is always there fully charged when I need it. I had never used a cordless stick vacuum before but the usefulness and versatility is great. This unit in particular is also easily adjusted to go under things. I find myself willing to clean my floors more promptly due to the convenience as compared to having to use a corded vacuum. It is worth noting though, that it works better for hard surfaces (vinyl, ceramic, hardwood, etc.) than for carpets.



As far as power, the battery technology in this unit is amazing as it has good suction and a beater bar that you can optionally turn on. Also, the charge lasts quite a while, probably 10 or 15 minutes, before you start to notice some losses. But that's a long time when you are just using the unit for quick clean ups here and there and then put it back on the charger. Excellent product.

No home should be without at least one of these cordless vacuums. I have one up and one down stairs. I've had these little vacs for many years but this is the best one yet. The strength of pickup is amazing. It will even grab a throw rug and hang on until turned off.

I couldn't get by without this light weight and most helpful household item.



The only con I can see is emptying it, but that isn't a problem considering all the pros. The extra battery is a real plus. Another plus is buying it through Amazon gives you a better price.

Don't buy another one unless you want 2 extra batteries.



After researching on web for a couple of hours, I decided to try this vacuum.

I don't have a big house, just two bedrooms, and I was tired of dragging the canister and the cable. Cordless is very handy. Sucking up power seems strong enough.

I just don't like when emptying; it can be messy and dusty.

We bought this when our first child learned to crawl and we had to clean crumbs, etc off the floor before she ate them. Now we're again finding it indispensable for number two and three (now ages 1, 3, and 5)



I like it for:



1) Handle installs and removes quickly and easily.

2) vacuum hangs easy on the charger - some other ones we've had are tricky to pop into the charger correctly if you want it to be installed vertically.

3) Power roller bar - really sucks up those cheerios quickly, even on hard floors.

4) Easily removable battery - charger has a second battery charging slot so you can swap out.





When I bought this the cashier at Target told me that this was what they used to clean up spills in the store. It's now almost 3 years old and the battery is starting to show it's age (It's easily removable so I'll be buying a spare soon)



UPDATE: The original battery is still going strong. To eliminate the "Memory" I just ran down the battery between charges rather than keeping it on the charger "topping off" all the time. Works great now, as good as new!



UPDATE2 - after 5-1/2 years the original battery is finally dead. OEM replacement part cost me $19.99 including shipping, good as new!!!!



TIP: When emptying I find it handy to use a full size vacuum cleaner to get the filter extra clean.
