My husband and I bought this to use on the hardwood and linoleum. We LOVE it. We always keep it on the charger when we are not using it. It picks up so much. It's easy to use and the hand held device comes out quickly for use on the stairs and along the wall. It picks up cat litter like a charm. We have the green model so I'm not sure if it is any different but we love it. Now other electrolux products I won't vouch for. We just bought the Oxygen3 canister vac and an hour after we brought it home, when testing it out, it would not turn off. Very frustrating. Heading to the store now to exchange or return. I'm not sure if I'm brave enough to exchange it for the the same thing.

I never thought I'd try to wax eloquent about a vacuum cleaner, but I'm tempted to, after using this product Electrolux EL1014A ErgoRapido Bagless Cordless Handheld/Stick Vacuum Cleaner for a few weeks. It's well-designed: it has its own charging stand, the pieces come out easily when you want them to and the way that they fit is obvious. It picks up animal hair very well, and also dust I didn't even know existed!
The two nozzles for use with the detachable hand vac live in the charging stand, and are easy to miss when the unit is unpacked. I expected them to be in the packaging, and called customer service. Despite its being my mistake, the rep was polite and helpful.
However, the documentation that comes with the unit is in a tiny font and a bad color. As a documentation specialist, I put it aside as soon as I had the unit assembled, and totally missed finding the extra pieces. Why does the manufacturer go cheap with documentation in this way?

This vacuum cleaner is meeting my expectations which were as follows:
-light-weight, good suction, manuverablility in corners, reasonable battery life, easy to clean. I find that it works the best on wooden floors, but it does fine on carpet with the following caveats. If your carpet is thick pile, you cannot push the vacuum on it. What I do is lift the vacuum up a little off the floor and put it out in front of me and then pull it back toward me. It weighs very little, so this motion is not a problem. On tight weave carpets, you can push or pull. No problem.
One idiosyncracy is that on extremely light stuff (think a small feather), the rotation of the beater brush actually pushes the light stuff away. I had to hold the vacuum over the light stuff and it sucked it up immediately. It picks up cat litter and cat hair beautifully without any special effort.
Cleaning out the vacuumed dirt it is very easy. The cup comes out and I usually just give it a wipe with my hand. It has this little gizmo that you can pull that will knock off a lot of the dirt without you having to touch it, but it's not 100%. I am not that finicky about touching dirt, so it's no big deal to me. But it does have a place where you can suck the dirt out with another vacuum cleaner if you want to. Not a feature I am likely to use.
If you want a vacuum to do quick cleanups and that has good suction, this is it. I got it as a Christmas present and use it nearly every day. (PS - we had a large party on Christmas day, and I used this baby to clean up the kitchen, family room, living room, dining room, and stairs after the party. No strain on the battery at all. I was finished in about 10 minues.)

I bought this stick vac 1 year ago to use on the wood floors in my kitchen. At first it picked up really well, but after several months of use the pick up power was not as it should be. I wouldn't buy another one, even though I do hava an Elextrolux vacuum cleaner for the rest of the house. The warranty has expired of course.

I have/had a swiffer which is falling apart, that I really like. I also have, for about 20 years, Electolux Vacs, uprights, which I prefer. But, this Stick Vac is a true delight, it's true, that it doesn't have the draw of a regular upright, but as a back up cordless, it's terrific. It's great for kitchen/bathroom and quick vac ups. The charging station is terrific; you don't have to hang it from anything. I couldn't use my swiffer on a carpet and you can use this one on carpets. I can't wait to use it in my car. Also, it's great for doing stairs, nice and light and no cord that pulls out in the middle of the staircase forcing you to choose between falling down the stairs or holding on to the vac.
