Was at my favorite store 'costco' and saw this on sale and decided to get it. I've bn using the swiffer sweeper vac and i was fairly happy with the job that it was doing....UNTIL...I tried out this ErgoRapido. I can only say "WOW"...it picks up dog hair, people hair, dust, even the dust between the hardwood floor seams it will pickup. Plus unlike the sweeper vac, this one has a roller brush on the bottom so it will brush loose the dirt then suck it up. It's very light and convenient. It comes with 2 power setting. I ususally use the low setting for hardwood floor, then the higher setting for the area rug. The job it does on the rug is IMO not that great. I would think that only people with mainly non carpeted floors would appreciate this vac. Also, the hand vac is very useful for curtains, pet hair on furnitures...and it also comes in very handy for vaccuming the car as well...and the vent on the bottom of the refrigerator. I'm sure I will find more places to vaccum. I have had this for a week now and everyday i've been using it...I'm actually finding it difficult to keep my hands off of this vac. Also, i am TRYING to get my dog acclimated to the hand vac so that i can vaccum his body.
The battery lasts about 20 minutes which for me is enough. I just hope the battery life doesn't get worse...then it will really suck coz i really love this.
so get this or you can get the other model which is a 12v which supposedly has a longer battery live but is also a bit more pricy...

I have been researching stick vacuums for quite some time, but I never saw this vac. Two weeks I saw it on display in BJs. It was charged so I walked it all around the warehouse vacuuming everything I could find and I was very impressed. I bought it for our small cabin in the woods and I couldn't be happier with it. I used it several times a day, every day, for 10 days straight and it did a fabulous job on the tile, hardwood floors, and low pile area rugs. It has great suction and I never had to go over an item twice. I even used the hand tool to pick up a pile of nails and screws that had spilled in a hard to reach spot in a closet, without any problems. I was so impressed with this little vac that upon returning home from my vaction today, I ran out today and purchased another one for home use. I have over 800 sq feet of tile and plan on never touching a broom again!
Note: This vac is not intended for deep cleaning and is not intended to be used on medium or hile pile carpeting. The instructions also say the battery charge lasts up to 12 minutes. If you need a vac to do all of this and hold a longer charge, don't by a cordless stick vac.
Pros: Lighweight, quick charge, great suction, cute, great manuverability, cordless, and more.
Cons: It doesn't stand on its own...but I don't care.

Works very well for a cordless vacuum in terms of cleaning power, but battery only lasted me 15 minutes or so of cleaning. It also takes a very long time to fully recharge, so it's really something you need to have room (and not mind having an orange vacuum sitting out in view) to leave sitting out and on the charger all the time So it's really limited to quick clean ups of a kitchen etc., and I would recommend it for that purpose.
Returning mine and trying a Hoover Flair corded stick vacuum as I want something I can use daily for cleaning cat hair and litter etc. off the hardwood floors in my condo with no worries about battery life, and no need to have a vacuum sitting out on a charger all the time.
But again, a solid cordless vacuum for people who prefer the convenience of cordless and don't need more than 15 minutes of use or mind having it on the charger all the time.

I have tried and tossed more mini-vacuums than I can count. This has changed all that. I simply love this vacuum!
Pet hair is no problem, and, although cordless, it actually has plenty of power. (There are two speeds, but why you would ever use the "low" speed I don't know...) Great looking, light weight, easy swivel and WELL designed. Bravo Electrolux--a great product.

We bought this for its intended use - a quick clean up of hard flooring. It does a good job and we like the swivel head as compared with its competitors.
It has NiCad batteries which lose their ability to hold a charge in a relatively short time frame with frequent use - months, not years. Being concerned about this, having experienced rapid extinction of our Swiffer vac, we went into this with eyes open. To educate ourselves, I wrote this query to Electrolux July 2, 2010: "Where can I get replacement batteries for my EL1014a Ergorapido? Thank you."
Electrolux Customer Service responded on July 5, 2010: "The battery is not replaceable, but you can get a replacement hand vac (batteries are located inside hand vac) To order parts and accessories for your model, please call 1-800-896-9756. Our representatives will gladly place an order to be shipped directly to you."
Not impressive for a "$100" appliance, but nonetheless, we will stick with it. Keep your eyes wide open when you consider these appliances with rechargeable NiCads. It is my opinion they could very well be made replaceable.
Indeed, if a replacement hand vac is available on their website, its very hard to find. I could not find it. That's pretty lame in this day and age.
