I bought this saw about a year ago. I've bought it for cutting up some trees to be used in our firepit. Since I've had it, I've cut up about 7 trees. Most of them being about 16 inches in diameter. It has been touchy from the start.

My first issue with the saw was that after I started to cut the trees into smaller sections, as soon as I would take my hand off of the throttle, the saw would stall. I did a little reading and came up with....let the saw idial for about 30 seconds after starting it up. So, I did that and it appeared to work. Well, about a month ago, I took my saw to my dad's house to fell a tree of his. What a pain in the arse. Whenever I put the saw on its side to attempt to cut a wedge, the saw sputters to a stall.

I tried to use the saw again the other day....whenever I put a load on this saw, it wants to stall now.

I tried to buy a medium duty saw for the homeowner and do it cheaply. Well, you get what you pay for.

Now I am looking into buying a Echo or Husqvarna......that is what I should have done from the start. I guess every once in awhile you have to throw away $100 to remind you "buy quality and you will only have to do it once".

Stay away from this saw.

Only buy this chain saw if you have little use for one. It is lite duty all the way.I bought this saw to cut up some large branches from a tree. It is barely good enough for this job. The saw is very hard to start. As reported by several others the chain falls off regularly. For some reason my chain needs to be replaced and I am not yet done with this small job. I have no idea why this would be but it does not cut hardly at all and smokes the wood rather than cut it.I just hope that a new chain will work long enough to finish the job. All that being said I must in fairness say that I bought this saw as "re-conditioned into like new condition".Perhaps what I really got was re-conditioned into used condition. This may be why the chain wore out so fast.

The product was advertised as new, but when I received it the box was marked "Recon" all over it. Maybe their sly way of trying to downplay the fact that the chainsaw is not a new one, but rather a "reconditioned" one? The chainsaw has nicks, scratches, and wear marks all over it. They couldn't even spring for a new chain inside the box----even it says "Factory Service Center Recon Chain". What a ripoff!

I'll keep the chainsaw and try it out. But if it doesn't perform as advertised, this case is going straight to the BBB (Better Business Bureau) as I've seen this complaint of "paying for new, but receiving used" from other reviewers on this product.

I bought this saw in 2005 for felling three small trees (18" diameter) I would start the saw every 6 month and used fuel stabilizer when storing for long periods, in short this saw was babied. After major storm in 2010 the saw worked okay initially, but eventually became very difficult to start. It turned out that the engine had not enough compression to start. This saw just about broke me mentally and physically, exerting huge energy trying to start it. My advise is stay away from this saw, spend the extra $ for something you can rely on. If you gave me a new one for free I would not take it. You can not put a price on aggravation and frustration.

Bought this vacuum after perusing a ton of other stick vacuums and reviews. I am HIGHLY pleased with the Eureka. I purchased this mainly to use as a 'quick fix' between cleaning with my large vacuum. Very pleased with the power and ease this little guy has!! Cat food off of tile, cat litter out of carpet, dirt from the 'boyz' not wiping their feet before coming in from outside, stairs. I even took it outside to help vac off the patio furniture. It is extremely portable and works great! The only slight issue is the handle feels a little wobbly when you are using it, but no worries it is def. strong enough to do the jobs you need it to do. The handle moves a bit simply because it's removable to turn the Eureka into a dust buster. I basically vacuum something up everyday now with no hassle at all. Highly recommend!!

It is wonderful! For someone who has several indoor cats, I swear by this hand vac.

PROS: It picks up pet hair better than any vacuum I know.

It is great for fluffing up heavy traffic areas on your carpet and stairs

My carpet looks like I use my full size vacuum, it picks up everything

Great on tile floors in the kitchen and bath, picks up crumbs and hair beautifully

Its light weight.

The handle comes off for use on furniture and it helps on the stairs

Picks up cat food and cat litter

I have one minor con but I don't dare give it less than five stars. I love it that much.

CONS: Wish the battery life was longer, but that's ok because it comes with two strong rechargable chargers that can be charged at the same time. I like using it in my entire home, not just for spot clean up. It just makes the carpet look so fresh

This vacuum does a much better job with cat hair and dirt than any other lite portable we've tried, B&D or Shark. It will do the majority of the house 3 times on a single charge. I recommend not charging the vacuum or spare battery unless they are low, (not dead, just low), as every nicad battery gets cooked by the chargers soon after the warranty period, whether it's 90 days or 1 year.

Engineers continue to specify charging rates far in excess of the capability of the batteries to shed heat. This applies to all nicads and most nimh battery chargers on cheap portable appliances, therefore the batteries, over time, start a chemical chain reaction while being charged which kills them. Battery chargers which are electrically correct, cost about 20 to 40 dollars each, so you can see why they are only included in professional appliances and tools.

To beat this problem and have nicads or nimh batteries last for a few years instead of a few months, you must charge them only when they need it and do not leave them in the charger more than they need to recover. Also the fewer cells used in these batteries, the less chance of an inferior one which will ruin the entire battery pack so use lower voltage battery packs.

The batteries should be used until they are mostly discharged, i.e., when the motor slows down a little bit. Then they should be charged for 16 and no more than 24 hours, and taken off the charger or turn the charger off.

BTW, there is a simple solution to this dilemma, manufacturers should include Chinese made chargers with all portable appliances which charge the batteries with an intelligent rate, constant current, constant voltage, heat and voltage cutoff and .01C trickle rate. One day someone will do this and we should only buy that brand until the rest of them get with the program and we stop throwing away batteries so often. (Oops, they make higher profits selling replacement batteries so there goes the incentive)

I've purchased this product because I didn't want to sweep floors or mess with cords. I read lots of reviews and set my heart on this product. It is wonderful!!! It is soo light weight, easy to operate, the suction is amazing, and it turns to go under furniture. I have two dogs and we all love to be outside. It cleans everything and has sweeper rolls as an option for suction. As far as an extra battery, I didn't purchase it. I let the battery run dry and then charge it back up. I do not leave the battery on the charger for longer than it needs to be. This vacuum is pricier than the other one's, but well worth the money. So good luck!

I've had this vacuum for a year and have been very satisfied. I have a 2 bedroom apartment and love the freedom of a cordless vac. This one easily switches from low for hardwood to high for carpet and the head also swivels to reach into tight spaces. However, the stick doesn't get close to the floor without lifting the business end so you can't really get under the furniture. The biggest downfall as others have said is the battery life. It used to last long enough to vacuum my whole 5 room apartment, but now I can only get 3.5 rooms done on one charge. I'm looking into getting another battery because I really like the ease and performance of this vac!

I bought this product a week ago. Indeed I enjoyed the convenience of moving around without a cord, but the battery turns out to be more a minus than a plus. With a fully-charged battery (takes 2-3 hrs to charge), it can only be used for 15-17 mins until the battery dies! The battery life is so short that renders the battery-life indicator useless. Upon calling the customer service, I was advised that such battery life was normal, and I could "buy one more battery if I need." I will not recommend this product if your area-to-be-vacuumed is more than 500 sq feet.

Compact and easy to store where it's needed. Bought second battery so it's always ready but haven't run out yet. Picks up well, even large dog kibble and gets close into corners and edges. Cleans rug surfaces well. Gets under things I've always had to move before. Cordless convenience is a dream. I'm actually vacuuming more often (spot clean-ups)and enjoying it. A definite keeper.

The Black and Decker cordless handheld vacuum is very powerful and makes small vacuuming jobs easy. I had a hard time figuring out how to fold it up and store it in the charger; it wasn't intuitive. Also the front of the pivoting nose has an insert that comes out easily but is difficult to put back. I t didn't hold the charge as long as I expected it to. Otherwise it is a fine tool, easy to carry around, small enough to plug in and hide and extremely powerful and efficient. I am generally very happy with it.

We bought this over a year ago after going through several different "dustbusters". This one has had consistent power, easy to use even for my 9 and 11 year olds cleaning up kitty litter weekly.

I love the long thin nozzle that gets under my car seats - without having to search for attachments since it stays attached and just folds up after use, and I can clean my whole minivan without running out of juice! Haven't found any "cons" so far, so have to give it 5 stars.

We are gardeners and were looking for an organic way to remove insect pests from our plants. We were relly looking for something to remove squash bugs (stink bugs) from our pumpkins. It takes a long time to charge the battery the first time, so I didn't get to try it out the day we got it. After it was fully charged, with my B&D vac in hand I went forth to the garden. No bug could stand against the powerful vacuum of the little B&D. The easy to clean filter is also a plus for this use. I sometimes get a lot of soil in the vac when I try to get the bugs. Just pop open the collection door and remove the filters to clean. I'm pretty sure it wasn't meant to be used as an organic insecticide, but it really works well. No problens so far.

We went out shopping for a new canister vacuum when my other one broke and stumbled up on this on clearance at BrandsMart for $88. It has awesome suction, cool design, and even gets around my baseboards since there is no hose. only drawback are the small bags. I have 2 dogs that shed and get pine straw and stuff stuck to their hair so I vacuum every couple days and I seem to be changing the bag after like 2-3 uses. We did go ahead and buy a few when we purchased but I am going to look into buying a large amount at once to save money. It is very lightweight and takes up very little space. We have hard woods, rugs, and carpet and it works well for all three. My living room rug has never looked so clean. I see why people pay the money for this brand.

I've had this vac for 4 months now and I have never owned a vaccume that picks up pet hair so well. I have 4 cats (3 long haired), and LOVE this vac. The suction works great to get all the pet hair out of the rugs. This is the reason I bought this vaccume. I still use my old canister vac for the floors, and hard to reach places. The only complaint I have is the size of the bags. I can only vaccume my large living room and one bedroom before the bag is full, but I have found a way to empty the bags and reuse them.

Great vac for the price, and perfect for deep cleaning carpets.

I purchasesd the Electrolux EL5020A Upright because I don't have a lot of space, and I didn't want a heavy machine. Oooops, not the easiest to use. I have 95% wood floors and one area rug. It didn't glide across the floors. First clue to send it back. It did not fit under my setee which is high off the floor. Did not fit under my sleigh bed either -- not a good thing. There is a handle to use when carrying it up steps, that is why it doesn't fit under furniture. The bags do not hold very much. So even two stars may be too high.

I bought this in July of '09, as a replacement for another that I had tried. I should have stuck with my first instinct & went to Sears, Best Buy or Target to check vacuums out hands on.

What's good about it: It's powerful. It gets carpets as well as bare floors clean. It has an automatic winder for the cord. The handle folds down, so it's compact when it gets put away.

What's bad about it: a 15' cord limits the range it will go without looking for another outlet, weight for an item so small, bags that are 1/5 the size of normal and aren't secured.

I'll be buying another vacuum because the bag came off while it was being used & all the dirt & dog hair got into the motor & burned it out.

I would not recommend this item.

Great lightweight canister but NOT great with dog hair so need to go bagless. Used only twice and had to use a new bag each time so in no way is it practical. My family had Electrolux vacuums when I was growing up, so I was familiar with the Electrolux quality in vacuums. I realize, however, that the current Electrolux company has changed hands over the years and is not the original Electrolux company. I decided to buy the vacuum anyway since my upright vacuum was just too cumbersome and heavy to push around.

The Electrolux is lightweight and the large wheels make it easy to move around. One of the most convenient features is the buttons on the handle to the turbo cleaner -- on/off switch, variable suction button, carpet/bare floor buttons are all easily located on the handle that pushes into the wand that goes into the turbo cleaner brush.

It cleans extremely well on both the bare floor and carpet mode, and I can easily clean under beds with the turbo cleaner attached to the wand.

The Electrolux is exactly what I wanted in a new vacuum -- easy to move around, effective and efficient cleaner with HEPA filter with enough tools to do a thorough cleaning job.

Purchased thru Amazon in May 2010 and received it very quickly. The vacuum is quiet, efficient and a breeze to use. Our berber carpeting has never looked better even though we have three very hairy pets. We're very happy with the Electrolux so far!

I bought a top of the line Eureka Sanitaire cannister vacuum for $300. I have a receipt for 4 belts-$12 total, which I purchased at the same time. Now the belts are $12 each. I have a accessories list for the vacuum that offers the motor filter for $2; now it is almost $20--for a square of foam!

If you are using this vacuum for miles of office carpet, it might work OK, but be aware!!! Many Eureka cannisters do not have a way to adjust the roller brush up and down; your oriental rugs and longer fiber carpets will be chewed to bits. They certainly do not tell you that, neither will they replace the vacuum with one that adjusts, even if still under warranty.

Three thousand dollars of damage done to my rugs, and Eureka's attitude seems to be "too bad, so sad".

This is the best vacuum I have owned, it's lightweight, easy to operate and has all the attachments that are needed on hand. I was even able to assemble it out of the box without reading instructions! I have mostly carpeting throughout my house and the carpet attachment easily vacuums underneath sofas and buffets. It's also terrific on my vinyl floors and the retractable cord makes it easy to put away. Great job Electrolux!
